Week of 6/5 – 6/9/2023
City of Batavia Update:
Lead Water Services continue to be successfully replaced on the SW side of the City. The contractor has been doing a great job at keeping the sites clean and stakeholders happy. By the end of the today, 6/9/2023, 59 lead services will have been replaced with copper in Batavia. We are extremely appreciative of the efforts made by our contractor, engineering firm, and stakeholders to make this a successful project.
Contractor Update:
The Lead Replacement Project has continued to move forward with good progress. Thanks to a stretch of dry weather conditions work has been able to continue without delays. Sod restoration has begun on the first 58 services. Brandt Excavating has provided a water truck to make sure the sod roots are established. As always, great cooperation from the City of Batavia water department and EEI has helped keep us moving forward smoothly. Next week work will take place in the Wilson St and Houston St neighborhoods.
Engineering Enterprises Update:
To date, 59 water service lines have been replaced. The Contractor has begun sod restoration for addresses on S Water St, S Union Ave, Elm St, Main St, S Jackson St, S Batavia Ave, S Jefferson St, Blaine Ave, Morton At, and Walnut St. Pavement restoration for completed services will be upcoming, but in the meantime all asphalt is being temporarily patched. We appreciate all coordination efforts by the Contractor, City, and residents to date
