The postcard will provide residents with instructions on how to choose from three sizes of refuse and recycling toter/carts. When the postcards hit your mailboxes, residents are encouraged to respond quickly. The new waste hauling contract begins the week of July 1, all residents who currently use stickers for refuse and/or yard waste should only purchase enough stickers to get through the end of June.
The new waste hauling contract requires residents to use toters/carts for both refuse and recycling and stickers will only be used for additional refuse bags/items or yard waste. Groot will have stickers available at various retail outlets one-two weeks ahead of the contract starting. After July 1, any remaining Waste Management stickers may only be used for additional refuse bags/items or yard waste through the month of July. Residents will also be receiving a separate mailer from Groot with all the program details. We will share details at cityofbatavia.net as soon as they become available.
