Construction of the City of Batavia's Wastewater Treatment Plant Rehabilitation Project is financed by the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (SRF). The SRF program is administered by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and receives a portion of its money to fund these types of projects from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
The Rehabilitation Project consists of:
Demolition of the former Interfaith Food Pantry and Clothes Closet Facility
Off-site utility improvements
Construction of a new building to process sewer flows as they enter the treatment facility
Demolition and reconstruction of the treatment facility’s excess flow and clarifier tanks
Demolition and reconstruction of the treatment facility’s final UV disinfection equipment
