Mission
The mission of Batavia Emergency Services and Disaster Agency is to provide trained volunteer manpower to assist the City in the 4 phases of emergency management: mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.
Goals & Objectives
- Developing, maintaining, and operating the city's outdoor warning siren system
- Educating the public on steps they can take to protect themselves from the effects of disasters
- Developing and conducting emergency management training and education programs for city personnel and citizens
- Coordinating with private relief agencies to ensure the provision of relief supplies
- Assessment of potential hazards and notification of city officials
- Support of the Incident Command System at a scene of an emergency or disaster
- Assisting in the development of media information regarding incidents
- Coordination of emergency lighting or electric generation at incident sites
- Assisting all city departments as needed at incident sites
- Managing the City's emergency supplies inventory and providing back-up communications systems
- Assisting in disaster recovery operations
